Trail Conditions Winter Sports Trail Map

There are more than 8 miles of groomed ski trails and over 320 acres to explore on snowshoes.
Classic cross-country skis and a variety of snowshoe styles are available to rent. 

Rental Policies

• All rentals are first come first served. 
• Rental is subject to equipment availability.
• Rental is available when conditions are deemed acceptable by Quarry Hill. 
• Equipment rented for day use at Quarry Hill Park must be secured with a driver’s license or car keys.
• Equipment rented for use off-site requires a waiver and security deposit.

Cross-country Skis

Equipment includes boots, skis and poles in youth and adult sizes. 

Rochester Park & Rec and Rochester Active Sports Club work together to provide a variety of trails for all to enjoy. Please use the winter sports map to plan your route.

Groomed ski-only trails: trails on the east side of the park are groomed for cross country skiing only. All other park users should avoid these trails.

Groomed multi-use trails: All trails in the park except for the ski-only trails are open to all users, however this season we are grooming an additional trail through the meadow for hiking and snowshoe use. Click to see map.

Nordic Ski Team: The Rochester Nordic Ski Team (students grade 7-12) practice in the park on Monday and Tuesday from 4-5:30 pm. Trails are open during this time, but be aware that this is a high traffic time.

Snowshoes

Traditional wood snowshoes that provide loft in deep snow conditions and a limited supply of aluminum, hiking style snowshoes are available in youth and adult sizes.

Typically, snowshoes are best used ‘off-trail’ in un-groomed snow-covered areas of the park.  A groomed multi-use trail is available. Please avoid ski-only trails.
