Year Round Naturalist/Teacher Position

Naturalist/Teacher is responsible for (1) the teaching of public and private science and environmental education programs of Quarry Hill Nature Center; (2) assisting in the development of new programs and events; (3) engaging in informal education with Nature Center and park visitors. This is a full-time permanent position.

Summer Nature Camp Instructor (General)

Join us for a summer of outdoor exploration, environmental education, and all-around camp fun! Summer nature camp instructors are responsible for leading and implementing the Quarry Hill curriculum and experiences for children aged 5 to teens in small group settings.  They are also responsible for the development, growth, and skill achievement of the campers in his/her group, as well as their general safety.  A summer camp instructor provides high-quality outdoor educational and recreational experiences for campers, focusing on Quarry Hill’s mission of “Opening eyes and minds through natural science discovery.”

Summer Nature Camp Instructor (Bird Banding Focus)
Join the Quarry Hill Nature Center summer camp staff for a summer of bird banding
and environmental education. This instructor position with a bird banding focus will
have you catching, banding, and collecting data on a diverse number of MN
songbirds and leading 5th and 6th-grade students in bird-themed camps.
The position is ideal for candidates seeking to enhance wildlife ecology skills and field research experience and is a unique opportunity to train under master bird banders.

Summer Nature Camp Instructor (Nature Photography Focus)

Join the Quarry Hill Nature Center camp staff for a summer of exploration, and environmental education while exploring nature through the view of a digital camera. This position, focused on digital nature photography, will teach campers the basics of nature photography while exploring the various habitats of Quarry Hill Park.  The instructor is also responsible for the development, growth, and skill achievement of the campers in his/her group, as well as their general safety.  A summer camp instructor provides high-quality outdoor educational and recreational experiences for campers focusing on Quarry Hill’s mission of “Opening eyes and minds through natural science discovery”.
