Animals explore the outdoors all year round. Bundle up and let's join them to explore the winter landscape using Native American stories as our guide. Why is the possums tail naked? How do you play snow snakes? Who lives in the cave? Is there life under the ice in the pond? When we use our imagination and our observation skills, nature reveals wonder all around us!

Navigating through the winter months can be filled with exciting travels. Embark on your own journey right here in Quarry Hill Park. Adapt to the weather and landscape just as the animals do when you navigate through the park with compass in hand. Practice orienteering skills to help you reach unique destinations in the park. And what would travels be without fun and games?  Active animal themed games and scavenger hunts will round out the fun. Conditions permitting, we'll use cross-country skis and snowshoes to traverse the snow covered trails to our destinations.
