Bird Banding Program

Flock to Quarry Hill and experience birds up-close while taking part in the Nature Center's bird banding program. Learn why birds are banded and how bird banding helps with conservation. Then get up-close when you learn how to safely trap, handle and release wild birds! The data gathered from these birds will be submitted to the USGS Bird Banding Laboratory. The program is held outdoors. Enrollment is limited.

  • Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult
  • Masks are recommended but not required
  • No pets allowed
  • 24 mo. and older must be registered to attend


Participants are asked to remain at home if showing any symptoms of Covid-19.

Cancellations: In the event of inclement weather, the program will be cancelled. Participants will have the option of moving to another available Sunday program or being refunded.

Participants will be contacted by phone by 12:00 noon if program is cancelled.
